It's been almost one month staying in China. Because the week days in school is always the same, there is nothing to write about it on the blog. However, the weekends that I am lucky enough to spend with my Host Family is amazing, there is so much to write about. Last week, we went to the Yellow River and the Green Landscape Park. Walking around everywhere was very tiring, but I think it was worth it. We first went to the Yellow River. There was tons of sand, much more than I expected. The Yellow River was so big that it looked like the sea. My Host Father asked me if I wanted to ride the horse, so I was very surprised. I said that I did not want to, because I was afraid. But they wanted to ride the 4 wheel off road bikes, so I was half forced to ride it. Yu Xuan and Host Mother, and Host Father and I. We rode it in groups of 2. The guys drove, while the girls sat on the back. For me, it was like the scariest 10 minutes of my life. My Host Father drove so fast and rough that I almost fell off like 10 times. My butt hurt a lot. My Host Mother scolded at him for driving too dangerously. While the guys went to return the bikes, my Host Mother and I took pictures near the water. When they returned, we decided to get on a small boat like a ferry to look at the river up close. It was dodgy, the boat. It looked like a piece of wood with movable chairs that you would see in any house. But I was able to get off after 20 minutes (alive). I forgot my phone in the car, so I was unable to take many pictures. Afterwards, we drove to a large park near. It was massive. There were many couples and families renting bikes. In the park, there was a massive temple. It was beautiful. I always think that the inside of the temples are very... mysterious. Walking back to the car, we walked on the road where autumn leaves where falling. It was very nice. The same week, we visited my Host Mother's friend's house, which is on the 15th floor of our apartment. I was able to try many types of tea that was made in a traditional way. I personally liked the Jasmine tea the best, because it wasn't bitter. When I returned home, I slept a lot. This week, on Saturday we went to a new shopping mall that only opened on Friday because I told my family that I would buy Korean food. From the outside, it was massive. Maybe 5 times larger than Albany Shopping mall in New Zealand, or bigger. There was 5 storeys. There were many shops from famous brand shops such as Nike, Converse, Adidas, Apple to shops that I have never seen. When we went to the 4th storey, there were two Korean restaurants. One was JeJu Black Pork and Kim Chi Soup specialised shop, and the other was just a meat shop. I recommended the meat shop since I thought it would be more easy to order. When I walked in, the smell that I have missed for the last one month excited me. It smelt so good! We took a table and looked at the menu. We decided to order 8 style pork course, 150g of beef and Ddukbokki. Seafood soup was given for free. I was looking forward to it very much. But, when it came out, I couldn't hide my confused face. It was way too little. They said that they don't give rice. The 8 style meat was like wine, miso, curry... I was a bit disappointed but I was happy that I could eat Korean food. The workers cooked our meat for us as a service, but they were so bad that I said that I would do it. It didn't taste very good. But my Host Family looked like they liked it, so I didn't say anything about it. Most of the time I was cooking the meat while the others ate. When I paid after eating, I was happy that it wasn't too expensive. I really wanted to walk around the mall and go shopping, but my Host Father said that he wanted to go home, he didn't like crowded places like this. My Father is the same. When we returned home, Yu Xuan and I went to the shop near and bought ingredients for milk tea and ice cream for me. I was scolded at for eating the ice cream. My Host Mother said that it was too cold for it. I slept heaps and at about 3:30pm next day, I arrived at school. Doing such fun things in the weekends, I am looking forward to the next one! This week, I am planning on dying my hair!
중국에서 생활한지 거의 한 달이 되었다. 역시 학교 생활은 매주 같으니깐 블로그에 올릴 만한게 없다. 하지만 호스트 가족과 보내는 주말은 매일 매일 재미있고 쓸게 많다. 저번주엔 가족들과 Yellow River 와 Green Landscape Park 에 다녀왔다. 하루종일 돌아다녀서 엄청 피곤했지만 재미있었다. 먼저 Yellow River 에 갔다. 도착 했을땐 생각보다 모래가 많고, 물도 많았다. 강이 얼마나 크던지... 바다인줄 알았다. 가자마자 말을 타자고 제안하는 아저씨에 엄청 놀랐다. 나는 괜찮다고 했지만 대신 4륜 오프로드 바이크를 타자고 해서 어쩔 수 없이 탔다. 유슈엔, 아줌마, 그리고 나와 아저씨랑 2인 1조로 탔다. 남자들이 운전을 했다. 나에겐 정말 공포의 10분이었다. 아저씨가 너무 빨리 달려서, 몇번을 떨어질 뻔 했다. 엉덩이도 엄청 아팠다. 아줌마가 아저씨를 혼냈다, 너무 빨리 달린다고. 아줌마와 사진을 몇번 찍은 후 강을 볼 수 있게 조그만한 배를 탔다. 엄청 무서웠다. 그냥 나무 판에 움직일 수 있는 의자들... 뭔가 불안 했지만 다행이도 살아서 내릴 수 있었다. 핸드폰을 차에 두고 가서 엄청 아쉬웠다. 사진이 많이 없네. 그 다음엔 공원으로 갔다. 아주 큰 공원이었다. 2인용, 아니면 가족용 자전거를 빌려서 돌아 다니는 걸 많이 볼 수 있었다. 공원 안에 아주 큰 절이 있었는데, 매우 아름다웠다. 안으로 들어가니깐 절 특유의 향기와 신비스러운 아우라가 풍겼다. 차로 돌아 가는길에 예쁜 단풍 거리와 은행 나무들을 볼 수 있었다. 그 날 집에 돌아와서 아주 푹 잤다. 같은 주, 아줌마가 같은 아파트 15층에 아는 사람이 산다고, 차 한잔 마시러 가자고 해서 유슈엔이랑 셋이 갔다. 들어가니 아주머니 한명, 아저씨 한명 그리고 내 나이대 정도 돼 보이는 여자애 한명이 있었다. 안에 들어가 보니 거실에 차를 전통적이게 만들 수 있는 예쁜 테이블과, 유리 포트, 그리고 예쁜 컵/도자기들이 자리하고 있었다. 만드는 걸 직접 볼수도 있었고, 여러 차들을 마셔 볼 수 있었다. 개인적으로 재스민 차가 쓰지 않고 맛있었다 제일. 이번주엔 내가 저녁에 한국 음식을 사드린다고 해서 당일 전날 막 오픈 한 대형 백화점에 갔다. 들어가니 뉴질랜드 몰이랑 아주 비슷해서 친숙했다. 하지만 그 규모는 어마어마 했다. 한 알바니 쇼핑몰 5배... 이상? 5층이나 있었고, 유명한 브랜드 가게부터 나에겐 생소한 가게까지. 4층으로 가니 음식점들만 쭉 자리 했다. 한국 음식점이 2개 있었다. 하나는 고깃집, 다른 하나는 제주 흑돼지 & 김치찌개 전문점. 고깃집이 편할거라 생각한 나는 고깃집으로 가자고 했다. 들어가니 아주 친숙한 냄새가 풍겨왔다. 엄청 기분이 좋았다! 구석진곳에 자리를 잡고 매뉴판을 보니 엄청 많았다. 고민 끝에 우린 8색 돼지고기 코스, 소고기 150g 과 떡볶이를 시켰다. 해물찌개는 무료! 엄청 기대됐다. 하지만 나온걸 보니 엄청 양이 적었다. 내가 혼자 다 먹을 수 있을 정도로. 당황 했지만 떡볶이와 찌개가 있다며 애써 침착했다. 하지만 밥도 주지 않았다. 충격에 빠진 나는 그냥 먹기로 했다. 고기를 먹을 수 있는게 어디야. 8색 돼지 고기 코스는 내가 생각한 부위별이 아닌 맛 별 이었다. 카레, 와인, 미숫가루, 생강 등... 양도 매우 적었다. 삼겹살 한 줄도 안 되는 양... 할 수 없이 그냥 먹었다. 직원이 고기를 구워줬지만, 너무 못 구워서 그냥 내가 한다고 하고 내가 구웠다. 아빠가 일주일에 몇번을 해줬던걸 내가 하니깐 힘이 들기도 하고, 아빠에게 감사해졌다. 맛은 그다지 없었다. 떡볶이도 기대 이하. 하지만 내색 안 하고 다 먹은 후 나와서 계산을 했다. 생각 보다 적게 나온게 다행이었다. 나오면서 생각을 했다. 아... 집에 가면 고기 많이 먹어야지 하고. 조금 돌아다니고 싶었지만 아저씨가 너무 사람이 많다고 집에 돌아가자고 했다. 그래서 돌아왔다, 잘 놀지도 못 하고. 좀 아쉬웠지만 내색하지 않았다. 집에 와서 유슈엔이랑 집 앞 수퍼에 가서 밀크 티 재료랑 내가 먹을 아이스크림을 사왔다. 아줌마한테 혼났다, 추운데 먹는다고. 집에 와서 푹 자고 다음 날, 3시 30분 쯤 학교에 도착했다. 매주 이렇게 재미있는 걸 하니, 다음 주말도 기대된다! 이번주엔 머리를 염색 할거다.
